It's important to us that our classes are better than everyone else's.
Every time you walk into a Jive Nation Super Club, you know you will get great, fast lessons, three hours of humming freestyle dancing with awesome music and teachers that never, ever leave the floor.
In the classes you will have great moves, efficiently taught, no boring off-the shelf and pre-scripted routines. Give us three weeks and you will be addicted, give us ten weeks and you will be comfortable with your dancing, give us six months and we will change your life forever.
It is important to us that you feel welcome and energised for the full three hours of freestyle and stay to the very last song of the night. We know it can be daunting when you are starting out, but that's why our dance teachers stay on the dance floor until the very last song.
Each class is a work of art, crafted by the teacher so you know that you are getting something fresh by our talented, sometimes cheeky, but qualified and independently accredited teachers.

His trademark is the dynamic pace and powerful style, and is delivered with a clear, comprehensive instructional style that keep students flocking back - particularly those that like to be challenged to learn MORE moves in each class.
Having been taught and trained by Nicky Haslam in Sydney, Simon learned from Nicky's unique and advanced Modern Jive repertoire - and was a popular teacher across all of the Sydney venues for many years.
Then the travel bug bit - Simons teaching adventures have taken him from Sydney to Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Wellington (New Zealand), Spain (Barcelona and Granada), Scotland, London, and many places in the UK. Since arriving in the UK, Simon has already delivered over 300 days / nights of classes. Simon has kept his audiences on their toes with fast paced classes at Jive Addiction Weekenders, Club dance Holidays (Barcelona and Granada) Jive Time Weekenders, Rebelroc / Rebel Yell, Monster Jive Cocktail, Judging at Britrock Championships and Ceroc Championships.
After taking a much needed break from teaching in the summer of 2006, Simon teamed up with Susie Kable (Australian Advanced Teacher and Choreographer Extraordinaire), and with the ever-energetic Seamus Waldron as their manager (and fellow teacher) the three adventurers launched Jive Nation's first class on Monday 23rd October 2006
Simon, Why are your classes taught so fast - more moves than other venues?
"People want to get good - FAST. Jive nation uses a combination of techniques and technology to get you there faster.
"Firstly, we teach at least an extra move or two in every class. Harder. And faster. You don't get bored in a Jive Nation class, ever. "
"Secondly, we carry over one of the moves from last week, and re-teach it as a part of next weeks routine, to help reinforce and refresh."
"Thirdly, all the Jive Nation teachers stay on the floor all night long to help you with the moves, review things, and to help you look good. Faster."
"Finally, we encourage people to film all routines, and we also put them up on the web - technology is great fun, so make the most of it!"
"Since the day I started teaching, I realised one thing was more important than anything else" says Simon. "People want their teacher to make them better dancers - FAST. This means TOUGHER moves, more challenging classes, faster classes, full support, moves lists, web casts, the works. Jive Nation Teachers take sheer joy in staying on the dance floor with their students.
"After teaching an exhilarating dance class, I never, ever leave the dance floor. I dance with everyone in the house, and will never rest. In my travels I may have met teachers that only dance with favourites, or lurk at the bar, or behind the DJ booth, but the customers spot this a mile away. When a teacher joins Jive Nation there is one requirement above all else. You love to dance with the people that honour us with their custom. Every song, all night long.
Simon says he is going to teach the whole world to dance - come along to any Jive Nation night, and you will agree - this guy is dedicated to teaching!

He was taught by the best in the business in the mid 1990's, but really created his unique dance style after moving to the USA. Whilst dancing in Boston, New York and San Francisco, he brought in elements of ballroom, Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing.
Seamus has won and been placed in many dance competitions, specialising in DWAS (Dance with a stranger). Seamus' specialiity is being appreciated for what he achieves with regular dancers on the dance floors of regular evenings and events around the country.
His teaching style is all about fun and cool moves to do in freestyle. Don't miss his workshops where you you will only find great moves that can be done on the dance floor. He actually practices what he teaches and what he teaches will make you a standout dancer.

Roger is interested in most forms of dance and is always developing his dancing style. Roger was amongst the first Jive promoteurs to introduce WCS to the Modern Jive scene and would love to see it develop and grow.
Roger is available for private dance classes.

Taught by Nicky Haslam, Susie quickly went on to be the principle female Modern Jive teacher in Canberra for many years. On her return to Sydney, Susie joined the Demonstration Crew, wowing crowds and taught the Intermediate/ Advanced classes, constantly bringing fresh moves to the Modern Jive circuit.
Susie's is particularly well known for her stunning routines and creative classes that are particularly challenging for the female, with body rolls, funky moves and famous spins.
Susie is always looking for a lead to steal or a cheeky moment to test any man on the dance floor. She loves to make a rule of dancing with every man in the house so next time you see her step up and ask for a dance.
Susie had several Australasian trophies and gives private tuition for those looking to enter competitions. She will also choreograph a routine for your wedding dance or entertain your guests at a hens night where she will get every girl moving like never before.

Affectionately known as the "pocket rocket" (due to her love of spinning) Sandra is our cheeky London gal and her love of the dance floor is only paralelled by her enthusiasm for bringing jive to as many people as possible. First one on the dance floor and last one off, her stamina and dedication are unquestionable but she is happiest when asked for a dance, whether it be by a beginner or advanced dancer. Classes are energetic and fast, with an empahises on the fun and flirty...and it is this relaxed, friendly approach to learning that has earnt Sandra her unique teaching style, and popularity with Jivenation members. Dancing is all about having fun and enjoying yourself- at Jivenation the great thing is that that doesn't just extend to the dancefloor, trying to get through a class through the giggling can be challenging too...
Trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, Sandra has had a long career in the performing arts and teaching, and has enjoyed working in both schools and for local councils before taking up dance teaching full time. Her mantra follows the line of "if I can do it, anyone can" and that is true. There are many who join our classes and in the beginning they will be convinced they are a lost cause, but to see their faces after only 6 classes, to see their confidence and competence grow over that time, you would question if it is the same person standing in front of you. It truly will change you forever- and that is why we teach...
